Pirms gada “Savvaļas” izstādes atklāšanā dejām paredzētajai vietai aizmugurē tika piedzīts Nissan markas auto, kas kalpoja gan kā elektrības avots skaņas aparatūrai, gan apgaismojuma sistēma, gan arī kā bārs. Blakus tika iekurināts ugunskurs. Diezgan ātri tur uzšvirkstēja savrupa ballīte. Par to sākumā biju ļoti neapmierināts, jo man šķita, ka tiek veidota kaut kāda VIP backstage zona, kas šķeļ kopējo pasākumu un izrāda necieņu dīdžejam. Mēģināju atbrīvoties no šīs neapmierinātības, atgādinot sev, ka “Savvaļā” visi drīkst rīkoties, kā viņiem tīk.
Tā pagāja nakts, dj spēlēja, cilvēki dejoja, Nisanā tika pieliets benzīns, lai nebeigtos skaņa un gaisma. Vienlaicīgi auto skaņas sistēmā neskaitāmas reizes uz riņķi griezās viena kasete – Greatest Love Hits vai kaut kas tāds. Pamazām pienāca rīts, dīdžejs beidza spēlēt, bet Nisana ballīte turpinājās vēl krietnas stundas…
Neilgi pēc tam, kad Daiga man piezvanīja, lai aicinātu piedalīties šī gada Cēsu Mākslas festivālā, man atnāca ļoti skaidra un pārliecinoša sajūta, ka jātaisa skulptūra “Fragments nr. 2”, kurā būtu attēlota iepriekš minētā situācija.
Skulptūra “Fragments” tapa pirms desmit gadiem – darbu cikla “Zemesdarbi” ietvaros. Pārsimt metru no “Fragmenta nr. 2” notikumu vietas atradās ugunskura vieta, kuru ieskāva palieli laukakmeņi. Tie tika atlieti ģipša formā tāpat kā divi pie ugunskura sēdošie cilvēki. Šī skulptūra tika veidota no zemes (ar saplākšņa un epoksīda sveķu kompromisiem).
Šoreiz bija sajūta par betonu, 3D skenējumu un robotrokas frēzējumu ģipša atlējumu vietā.
Pamazām smagnējā doma par stiklšķiedras formām, monolītiem betona lējumiem un ar ceļamkrānu ceļamajām tonnām noveda pie domas par gāzbetona lējumiem, laika gaitā arī tā sāka šķist pārāk neekoloģiska un neefektīva. Un tad jau bija tikai viens solis līdz 3D frēzētiem gāzbetona blokiem.
Lai veiktu skenējumu skulptūras vajadzībām, bija vēlreiz jāinscenē kāds no pērnā gada nakts brīžiem. Viens no tiem bija piefiksēts fotogrāfijā. Ieradās pilnīgi visi aicinātie situācijas dalībnieki!
